Stream is a puzzle game made for the playdate based on the mobile game Flow. Connect each paths together with the same symbol and fill up the entire board to complete the level. There are 465 total levels to get through with varying sizes. That's enough content for plenty of hours of playtime, and best of all it's free!

This game also has a completely custom soundtrack of 5 unique loFi songs to relax you as you get frustrated over being unable to complete a level that you've been stuck on for 10 minutes.

I have a series of devlogs documenting the creation of the game from start to finish that you can check out! https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL2lkPoHiSvAMxELYNceqYY7JnS5BkhyiY

Well, the game is very addictive. I finished 5x8 levels, finishing level 10 after 15 tries or so. Let's go for the 6x10 levels now :)

That's great, I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it!

Yes, I really enjoy it. And with 465 levels, I have 3 or 4 monthes play time.

I saw your youtube videos on the making off. Very interesting.

Have a good day.

Hello.

I'm using Stream 1.2.1 with playdate sdk 2.6.2. I noticed even if I finished correctly level 2 on easiest difficulty, there is no "Level complete" message.

Known issue?

This is the first I've heard of it so thank you for reporting it

Hey, I just went and tested it but I was unable to reproduce this error. Just to check though, since I know the rules of the game can confuse people sometimes. Not only do you have to connect all the symbols together, but you need to cover every tile on the board so if you didn't the level won't be counted as complete. Is that the case here?

(1 edit)

It is the case I did not fill all the cases. Thanks for the info, it was not really clear!

Edit: I make it in the easier difficulty to level 14, but I have not find the solution for level 10 :(

I randomly got this error while playing level 23 in 6x10 Standard (game version 1.2.1, system version 2.5.0):

Scripts/gameManager.lua:251: attempt to index a nil value (local 'prevPath')
stack traceback:
	Scripts/gameManager.lua:251: in method 'moveOnNode'
	Scripts/gameManager.lua:187: in method 'move'
	Scripts/gridCursor.lua:92: in function <Scripts/gridCursor.lua:71>
	[C]: in field 'update'
	main.lua:101: in function <main.lua:99>

Seems to just be a one-off though, I tried again and no errors occurred.

Yeah that's a new one I haven't heard before. Thanks for letting me know though, I'll try to see if I can replicate it

One of my Favorite Games on Playdate, I have nearly completed all the levels! More please! Thanks!!

Having an issue on v1.2.0, sideloaded, but once I select a game mode it crashes and makes me restart the playdate. Tried uninstalling. Unloading. And reloading with a fresh download. Still no luck. Is there something obvious I'm missing? Attached error below.

Looking forward to trying the game!

Sorry about that, looks like in a save data fix that I pushed there as issue with new game save states, but the new update should fix that!

Level 24 on 7x11 standard has two pairs of vertical rectangles. It glitches out and isn't able to be solved

Hey this was fixed along with a couple other levels a little bit ago so if you just update to the latest version you should be go to go! :)

I loved Flow Free as a kid and this is very faithful to it. I can just sit back and turn my brain off for most levels and the few sprinkled in that do require me to think are just as rewarding, which is my kind of puzzle game.

I'm glad you're liking it!

One of my most played games on Playdate thus far! Thanks for all your hard work put into it. Donated!

If I'm being honest, I think the thumbnail for the game on Itch didn't quite "pop out" for me, and the first animated hover image on Itch isn't meaningful gameplay (just menu navigation), so I skipped over it multiple times until I stumbled upon it under the free section and clicked on it to see the actual gameplay.

Only then did I realize this games was definitely up my alley! I hope you can make some minor adjustments to make it stand out more on Itch because I really enjoy this game!

Thank you, I appreciate that!

Loving this game! One of my favorites on the play date.

Wanted to drop a quick bug report though. On level 24 of 7x11, it cannot be completed due to 4 of the same symbol being present.

I appreciate the bug report, I'll have that fixed up

I just wrote a quick test and found 5 or so levels that have that same issue. They're fixed in the newest build and I threw in a list view icon since I was changing stuff. Thanks again for bringing that bug up

Took the time to check it out and was blown away by the polish! Presentation, soundtrack, gameplay -- all perfect. So rad!

Thank you, I really appreciate that!

thx for playtrough! I got stuck on level 11 like a stepsister in a washing machine. Trying overly complicated routes does not pay out :)
